This class will review various certification programs available for small and/or diverse businesses including SBA, NMSDC, WBENC and County of Alameda. There will also be a panel discussion including Small Business Advocates from several Federal, State and County agencies including the Alameda County GSA, the State of California GSA, the EPA Regional Office, Lawrence Livermore and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories, Caltrans, The Port of Oakland and UC Berkeley where they will discuss critical issues for small businesses seeking to do business with their organizations. At the end of the program there will be time for one-on-one networking with the panelists, East Bay SBDC consultants and other specialists there to help small businesses get certified and do business with these organizations. These agencies represent billions of dollars in contracts and are actively seeking to expand their bases of certified small business suppliers. If you don't come to the Seminar you can't start the process. At the end of this session, you will have learned how to complete the application process, gather supporting documents, have a thorough understanding of the benefits of being certified, and learn how to leverage your certified status to obtain business opportunities with major corporations.
