Das Bus
“We were awarded a $30k PPP loan in May of 2020 and in February of 2021. We also were awarded a relief grant of $2500 through the City of Oakland which Deborah sent to us to apply for. Through this funding and Deborah’s support, we have been able to keep our doors open with the hopes of working again as events and weddings begin again”.
Das Bus is the Bay Area’s original vintage mobile VW Bus Photo Booth. Owners Kate Stoddard and John Pearson debuted the business on February 14, 2014, and have served local communities with printed photo portraits at various music and food festivals, community events, weddings, and corporate parties.
Challenge:
The Covid -19 health emergency shut down their industry and rendered the business unable to generate income
Actions Taken:
“Our advisor Deborah Moody helped provide us with links to grant and funding assistance as well as helped to brainstorm ways to keep their client base even though events were not happening. Deborah supported us with actionable items to keep us engaged and working hard even though we weren’t able to run our photo booth. She helped us stay hopeful and optimistic”

How SBDC helped:
“Deborah provided our business with many useful practical tools, as well as motivation and support. She made us feel truly valued and cared for during a time of terror and uncertainty and helped us stay on our feet. We are forever grateful for her support and the support of the SBDC”
